Former Indian cricket legend and Lucknow Super Giants star spinner Amit Mishra recently spoke openly on the controversy with his former colleague Irfan Pathan in a recent episode of a podcast.
Regarding this controversy, he told that when he expressed his views on Irfan Pathan in 2022, he had to face a lot of criticism, but he kept his point heartily and clearly.

Amit Mishra told that Irfan Pathan had clearly challenged the communalism happening in the country in a social media post, to which he had stated his point of view in his comment. He had validated the importance of the Constitution and said that India has the potential to truly become the greatest country in the world, only if all citizens follow the Constitution.
Amit Mishra, while expressing his views in this situation, said, “I spoke my heart out on this problem. Yes, I got many abuses, but also got love from a lot of people. I also said that if we follow the rules in ten other countries, then why not in India? Follow the rules and regulations in our country too. If someone has a problem, then he should leave.”
In this conversation, Amit Mishra also clarified his personal distance with Irfan Pathan and talked about just shaking hands with him. He said, “I love my friends, who are close to me. Whether they are commercial or close, I have always kept relationships with them respectfully.”
He further added, “This was the first book that got a following. Yes, that’s right. Though I got a lot of abuse, I also got a lot of love, more than those abuses… But I spoke from the heart. If you follow the rules in ten other countries you go to, why not in India? India is also a country with rules and regulations; follow them. What’s the problem? If you have a problem, leave,”
Mishra added, “I used to shake hands with them. I never hugged them. I keep my distance. I keep relationships as they are. I love my close friends. Those who are commercial, are commercial. Those who are close, are close.”
