Shami told that some people had accused him of using an improper ball in the World Cup, which he denies. He said, “Those people were never happy with us. And never will be.” He denied the statements made in this controversy by calling it ‘ball tampering’.

Shami further said that he was unexpectedly shocked by such statements of persons like Inzamam-ul-Haq. He advised that such controversial statements should not be considered cartoonish.

In this controversy, he said, “It’s all a trick to fool people. They should focus more on developing their skills. Reverse swing is not magic. You just have to maintain the ball well. You have to prepare it well. You have to shine the ball properly. They know it. The world knows it.” He expressed that he advised the players to focus on encouraging them to win the match.

Shami finally said, “If you still think India has done it, then catch us red-handed and show it to the world. After all, you were the first to tamper with the ball. You were also caught.”

He took it seriously in the statement and said that it should be looked into strictly.
