Badrinath said on his YouTube channel that it seems as if one needs a “bad boy image” to get selected in the team. He openly criticized Rinku Singh and Rituraj Gaikwad in harsh words for not being selected in the team.

Badrinath made this statement through his YouTube channel when he was asked how he thought the selectors’ decision was in the team.

He replied, “Sometimes it seems that you need a bad guy image when players like Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad and others are not selected in the Indian team.”

The Indian team will be led by different captains for the T20 and ODI leg of the Sri Lanka tour. Suryakumar Yadav has taken over the captaincy in place of Rohit Sharma in the T20, while special players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma return to the ODI team.

This team looks like the team that performed well in the 2023 50-over World Cup and reached the final, where it lost to Australia.

Badrinath also said, “Apart from this, this team resembles the team involved in India’s successful ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign.”
