On Tuesday, he equaled Yuvraj Singh’s record by scoring 36 runs in a single over, which Yuvraj had done in 2007 by hitting six sixes on all 6 balls of an over bowled by Stuart Broad against England.
However, Yuvraj Singh achieved the feat by hitting 6 sixes while Pooran conceded 26 runs with the bat while the over also included 5 wides, 4 leg byes and a no-ball.

During the match, Pooran played a stormy innings of 26 runs against Afghan spinner Azmatullah Umarzai, in which he included six sixes and a four. Wides, leg byes and no-balls were also a notable part of his batting, which made him extremely profitable.
Pooran showed his batting by hitting a six on the first ball of the over, and his batting in the subsequent balls surprised the audience. He scored another 20 runs against Umarzai in the last four balls of the over, making West Indies the highest score ever in the World Cup.
After West Indies’ powerplay innings, they scored 218/5 in their allotted 20 overs, which was a tough task against Afghanistan. Afghanistan batted responsibly and were bowled out for 114, while West Indies won it by 104 runs.
