The Indian cricket team defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs in the Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 thanks to the brilliant performance of its great batsman Mr. Suryakumar Yadav. In this match, Suryakumar showed his strong batting by playing a brilliant half-century (28 balls of 53 runs).
Against Afghanistan, the Indian team controlled the match with its good batting and deep bowling. Even after Rashid Khan’s double blow, Suryakumar continued his batting performance and made India victorious.
Surya told the broadcasters during the innings break, “This is what I have practiced, I enjoy batting for 7-15 overs because this is the toughest phase where the opposition bowlers try to control things. I like to take responsibility in that phase, I enjoy it.”
Before this match, India won three matches in their group campaign, while one match was left unplayed due to rain. Afghanistan lost to West Indies in their final group match, which resulted in them being forced to shoulder the responsibility for entering the Super 8.
