What about Odisha NUA-O Scholarship 2024 ?
The Odisha government has decided to launch the Nua-O scholarship for undergraduate and postgraduate students in preparation for the next Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Under the initiative, male students will receive Rs 9,000 per year, while female students will receive Rs 10,000.
Male students from SC/ST and Nirman Shramik (construction worker) households will earn Rs 10,000, while female students in the same categories will receive Rs 11,000 every year.
Speaking to schoolchildren during the ‘Nu-O festival’ in Jajpur on Tuesday, V K Pandian, chairwoman of the 5T (transformational initiative) and Nabin Odisha program, stated that the decision was made the day before at a cabinet meeting convened by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
He stated that the Nutana Unnata Abhilasha (NUA) Odisha project strives to empower youth by providing possibilities for continual skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling.

‘SWAYAM’ means Swatantra Yuba Udyami, an initiative by the state government, aims to provide interest-free bank loans of up to one lakh to eligible young men and women aged 18 and above, with the government using Rs 448 crore from its budget.
Objective about NUA-O Scholarship
With a budget of Rs 385 crore for fiscal years 2023-24 to 2025-26, the plan will extend to all 30 districts, with a focus on tribal and isolated areas. According to Pandian, the grant would be available to students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in state universities, government and non-government aided colleges, as well as Sanskrit colleges under the Higher Education department.
Students whose parents pay income taxes or are permanent government employees will not be eligible for the award.

Odisha’s cabinet government has approved 26 measures, including the Odisha Ration Card Rs1000 Scheme. This initiative is for the benefit of the people. This initiative will distribute one thousand rupees to 95.90 lakh PDS beneficiaries (families with 3,35,98,401 people). This will cost ₹959.05 crore to implement.

- To apply for Nutana Unnata Abhilasha Scholarship, first go to the official website,
- On the home page, in the Announcement section, an option related to Nutana Unnata Abhilasha will appear, click on it.
- On the next page, “Download PDF” button will appear at the bottom, on clicking which the application form will be downloaded, which can be printed.
- Now fill the information asked in this form, attach photocopies of the required documents, go to your college and submit it automatically.
- After this further process, the application form will be submitted by the college on the portal.

Additionally as per official information, Starting from 12 February 2024, the Odisha Nutana Unnata Abhilasha Scholarship for the current academic year will be deposited in the bank accounts of qualifying students. He stated that this will be a new age of student empowerment in pursuit of the Chief Minister’s goal of ‘Nabin Odisha’ (New Odisha).
