Former Indian cricketers Ashish Nehra and Ajay Jadeja have expressed surprise at the recent revelations made by Suryakumar Yadav about a new tradition in the team.
Recently, after India’s 3-0 T20 series win against Sri Lanka, Suryakumar Yadav revealed that under his captaincy, the players have started the tradition of sitting together as a group instead of sitting separately, to promote a strong bond within the team.
Regarding this, Suryakumar Yadav told, “This trend started during the World Cup. We decided that we will not sit in small groups, but will always sit together as a team. The same happened during this series.”
Reacting to this revelation on Sony Sports Hindi, Ajay Jadeja doubted the novelty of this tradition.
Ashish Nehra said, “Didn’t he say that this change happened during the World Cup? It happened just a month ago.”
Ajay Jadeja replied, “I don’t doubt them, but I wonder if it has just started.”
Further Ajay Jadeja said, “This is what you expect in a team sport. I wonder if the players are still talking about it today and it is a change in the team that the players do not sit in small groups. I don’t know, didn’t you sit together in the previous teams? But again, the captain mentioned that he brought this change, although it is old,”
Amidst all this, people’s attention is also on the fact that the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka will see exciting matches under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and the return of key players like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav, which will start on August 2 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
