Kapil Dev praised Rohit Sharma in an interview and said that he is one of those who not only plays for himself, but is also able to keep every member of the team happy. He also showed that Rohit may lack physical strength, but his cricketing acumen and interest make him a great captain.

Kapil Dev said, “Rohit should be allowed to play based on his own characteristics. He is not Virat Kohli, and there is nothing wrong in that.”

Kapil said on ABP News show,

“If Virat Kohli can lift 150 kg and 250 kg dumbbells, it does not mean that Rohit should do the same. It seems that Rohit knows his game very well. He plays according to his own. He is not like Virat Kohli and does not jump here and there. Rohit is aware of his limitations and no one is better than him in this matter, not even Virat.”

He stressed, “Rohit has only one pack and that is enough to hit big sixes.”

He further said, “Many big players come, but they come for themselves, even they captain for themselves, but Rohit gets an extra chance, because he keeps the whole team happy.”
