Sometimes it happens in world cricket that the performance by the team comes against the expectations.
Similarly, when the competition took place between America and Pakistan, America surprised everyone by defeating Pakistan and demonstrating its supremacy.
Pakistan team’s leading bowler Wasim Akram expressed his concern about the team’s performance after the defeat in the Super Over.

He said, “Pathetic performance. Winning and losing are a part of life. But you have to fight till the last ball. It was bad for Pakistan cricket.”
Akram said in a conversation with Star Sports that
It was a sad moment for Pakistan cricket when they had to face defeat in the Super Over. He also dismissed the team’s performance rate and said that they will now struggle to reach the Super Eight against India, Ireland and Canada.
He said, “Pakistan will have to struggle to qualify for the Super Eight from here because they have to play against India (on June 9) and two other good teams (Ireland and Canada).”

He said, “The turning point of the game was the way USA took early wickets. Pakistan had a little partnership between Babar and Shadab and then could not score any runs. Fielding was below average, overall average cricket was played by Pakistan.”
Also, “I was confident while playing against USA, every Pakistani supporter was confident that they will win after the way they played in the first innings.”
He further said, “In the second innings they (USA) came out to chase the target…I mean scoring 19 runs in the super over is like scoring 36 runs in the super over. Well done USA.”
Along with this, he praised the bowling of US captain Monank Patel and said, “The most important moment of the day for me was the innings of USA captain Monank Patel, the way he batted…moved his bat forward.
Akram concluded by saying that USA played very good cricket and saluted them. In this match, America gave good exciting competition to Pakistan and provided them a big challenge to move forward in the tournament.
